Oriental Rugs

Oriental rug is the most environmentally sound choice for sustainable floor covering in the eco-friendly home. Are oriental rugs a good investment?

Oriental rug is designed in detail, usually on a piece of graph paper with all colors predetermined"and reproduced in numerous sizes, this is called a programmed rug. Many programmed rugs are woven with machine spun wool and use"chemical"dyes (swiss and german chromium based dyes) as opposed to plant based or vegetable dyes and hand-spun wool.

Oriental rug is surprisingly simple. Regular vacuuming is the most important step, with care taken not to use a beater bar on the fringes. Occasionally, the back of the rug should also be vacuumed, followed by a quick vacuuming of the face. Even with diligent care however, soil and grit will eventually work its way to the base of the pile, where it cuts against the carpet wool.

Oriental rug is made on a frame called a loom. Columns of thread are stretched from the top to the bottom of the loom. Each column is called a warp. Once the warps are arranged up and down the loom, the weaver makes sideways rows. To do this, he merely takes a thread and passes it over the next until he comes to the end of the loom.

Oriental rug is a hand-knotted or hand-woven loomed textile which comes from the near, middle or far east. The major oriental rug producing countries include turkey, iran, the caucasus, afghanistan, pakistan, india, nepal and china. Other countries such as egypt and romania have smaller productions.

Oriental rug is rewoven to add a date, or a numeral or two of an existing date is rewoven to adding to the apparent age of the rug.

Oriental rug is a beautiful investment for your home or office.
